Office Manager  - Automated Plant

Purpose of the job : To provide a full secretarial/ administrative support service to the ISAP section
Required outputs
: Functiona
  • Take secretarial and administrative decisions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for setting up site customer visits and multi-level meetings or functions and travel arrangements.
  • Responsible for maintaining computer and/or hard copy records of legal documentation and act as an information resource for the Section. Accountable for the use of the shared directories and applying Key 1 to all administrative processes.
  • Process formal documentation, including updating of all SABS related documents under Document Control.
  • Administration of Systems: SAP, raise purchase requisitions; book leave and overtime; manage the Section Change Proposal and Corrective Action System; SAP/R3 HR link with plants and some data capture evaluation.
  • Responsible for SHE in designated areas and OHS Act compliance.
  • Responsible for improvements, maintenance and good housekeeping of the Change Rooms.
  • Develop and maintain visual training manuals and materials.

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
  • Matric certificate with a tertiary secretarial qualification
  • 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Shift Manager x 9

Purpose of the job: To lead, manage production and maintenance activities of a multi-discipline technical team in the automated detonator manufacturing plants.
Required outputs: Functional
  • Ensures that all operating activities are carried out in accordance with the OHS Act, Explosives Act, Company Regulations and Company Standards and Requirements.
  • Responsible for managing, identifying and eliminating unnecessary expenditure and waste at all the different shifts to ensure optimum efficiency of the operation processes.
  • Optimises efficiency of the operation process by identifying and eliminating all unnecessary expenditure, in process waste and planning for optimal plant up time.
  • Responsible for all Managerial Functions including maintaining discipline and enabling the development of his/her respective team in a multi-skilled and automated environment and keeping the team informed on Company and local issues by encouraging active participation on all matters affecting them.
  • Carries out leadership functions for direct reports, including care and growth, discipline issues, communication, team participation in continuous improvement projects, individual and team performance management.
  • Responsible for maintenance functions and development of new product, and as a resource for engineering difficulties experienced by the Technician Operators.
  • Develops schedules for equipment maintenance and ensures that these are carried out to standard.
  • Develops and maintains critical spares lists and ensures that minimum stock holding levels are maintained at all times.
  • Ensuring compliance with the operations plan in terms of delivering on time and in full with regard to quantity and quality of product produced and dispatched.
  • Ensures compliance with production plans to achieve on time in full delivery of required product quantity and quality.

Team Manager

Purpose of the job: To ensure safe and effective production of the required quantity and quality of product produced.
Required outputs: Functional
  • Ensures the development and career management of subordinates.
  • Links with ETD function and functional managers towards enhancing the multiskilled competence of the team.
  • Links with production planner in order to meet weekly production plan.
  • Ensures safe and effective production of the required quality and quantity of product as required by the manufacturing plan.
  • Performs SAP R3 transactions as required by the production cycle.
  • Liaises with maintenance personnel in order to minimise production downtime.
  • Maintains established safety and housekeeping standards.

Purpose of the job: To maintain and adjust automated machinery and plant services as per set parameters and work procedures.
Required outputs: Functional

  • Perform scheduled and routine maintenance on all plant machinery, services and equipment.
  • Perform engineering inspections, identify problem areas and implement proactive plant maintenance and plant improvement corrective actions.
  • Attend to breakdowns as and when required to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining of all legal files and systems to required standards.
  • Minimise plant breakdown and down times by identifying root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to optimise plant availability.
  • Provide appropriate and adequate feedback and input to the Engineering Team Manager with respect to plant condition, spares and repairs carried out.
  • Assists and identify requirements for Critical spares list on Plant and Equipment.
  • Assist in improvement and implementation of maintenance schedules and special work instructions in designated areas.

Required outputs: Functional

  • Carry out investigations into operational problems, identify root causes, scope out and propose solutions for approval by the Section Engineer. These may range from engineering management through to equipment design problems.
  • Collating and analysing data for continuous improvement projects
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, selection of optimum solutions and the implementation there of.
  • Carry out plant capital projects as required. This involves design, estimating and execution of the work.
  • Perform design work and participate in project teams. In some cases manages projects depending on the nature of the project.
  • Commissioning of new plant where required.
  • Implement and manage various engineering functional activities such as continuous projects, equipment and drawing databases as directed.
  • Focuses on decreasing maintenance expenditure, by increasing plant performance and productivity and thereby ensuring that plants operate at the required operating efficiencies.

General
